The design is a mixture of classic and modern with a black and silver color theme. The subwoofer is all black, with the satellites featuring silver stands and highlights. This setup would look great on any desk.

Altec Lansing VS2620 – Best Compact Computer Speakers Under $100
Perhaps you are short on space around your desk? If this is the case, then you’ll want to find some compact speakers. These little beauties from Altec Lansing will do the job nicely with their contemporary design and clear sound. As a result, you get some of the best space saving computer speakers around.
This is a two-speaker system providing stereo sound from left and right satellites. Controls are mounted to the front of the right speaker. You can even connect an additional external device while still connected to your PC.
Striking design and sound…
The eye-catching angled design isn’t just for aesthetics; it also provides improved acoustics which makes for far better sound quality. Using Altec Lansing’s Audio Alignment technology, all the components work together to produce a more realistic sound.
Within each enclosure are two separate speakers. On the top is a 3-inch driver for mids and highs. Placed below is a 3-inch passive speaker for producing lows and driving bass. Combined, they produce a maximum of 5 watts RMS.
Taking control…
Found at the bottom on the front of the right speaker are the controls, along with a 3.5mm auxiliary input jack. There are three knobs for adjusting the power, volume, and tone, allowing you to match the settings to your audio output.

- Audio Alignment Technology provides balanced sound.
- The auxiliary input jack is easily accessible.
Cons
- No separate subwoofer for bass.

Pyle PBKSP22 – Best Bookshelf Computer Speakers Under $100
These great-looking studio monitor-style speakers pack a huge punch both in performance and bang for your buck. With a huge range of connection and playback options, along with a built-in amplifier, these Pyle speakers are worth considering.
These are often referred to as ‘bookshelf speakers,’ and are slightly larger than other compact speakers. Following a traditional design with a dark black wooden enclosure and a front mesh covering, there is certainly a classic appeal.
Staying in control…
At the rear of the right speaker is where you will locate the controls and jacks. Starting on the bottom left is the power switch with a power cable just above. At the top are two different input options, including a 3.5mm jack, along with left and right RCA plugs.
From the bottom right, there are three knobs for adjusting bass, treble, and mains volume. On top of the knobs are four small buttons activating play/pause, skip, and mode. At the very top is a USB input for reading audio files from a storage device.
Wireless power…
If you don’t like the mess of wires running everywhere, you can connect to the speakers via Bluetooth 4.0 wirelessly. Therefore, these are some of the best Bluetooth computer speakers available.
These speakers pack a huge punch for their size. Pumping out 150 watts RMS with a peak of 300 watts, you can really crank up the volume. This can all be heard in full HiFi fidelity with 4-8ohm impedance and 50Hz to 20kHz frequency response.

Creative T100 – Best Computer Speakers with Remote Under $100
Back to something a little more compact again, here we have this set of speakers from Creative. They are a 2.0 set of speakers, meaning it’s only left and right speakers with no extra subwoofer.
These T100 speakers pack in some extra power, thanks to the built-in amplifier giving them a boost. There is a range of connection options making them incredibly versatile, along with the bonus of remote control.
Multiple connection choices…
Instead of running messy cables, you can connect wirelessly using the latest Bluetooth 5.0 technology. This allows for use with any Bluetooth-enabled device, not only your PC. If you prefer a wired connection, Creative still has you covered.
Use either a 3.5mm auxiliary cable or an optical audio cable to connect through one of the ports at the rear of the right speaker. Finally, you can also plug in a USB storage device to playback audio files directly.
Control from anywhere…
On top of the right speaker, there are two round buttons and a rocker button in the center. The round buttons control power toggle and source, while the rocker controls volume. An included remote control gives you the ability to make adjustments from anywhere.

- Included remote control makes adjustments easy.
Cons
- More expensive option than other products.
- Annoying standby mode requires a firmware update.

Cyber Acoustics CA-3908 – Best Computer Speakers with Subwoofer Under $100
Our first product was from Cyber Acoustics, and now we have another. This time it is the bigger brother with an increase in both size and power. It follows the same design, which is a good thing because they’re quite attractive.
Included are two satellite speakers, a standalone subwoofer, and a control pod. The satellites feature removable cloth grills for added protection. Most of the speakers are finished in black, with some striking silver highlights.
Pump up the volume…
Making use of an internal power supply, you can raise the volume comfortably with 46 watts RMS being produced. Peak power can reach up to 92 watts creating a rich, full, and powerful sound capable of filling most rooms.
Sound arrives using dual 2-inch drivers and a single 2-inch passive radiator in each of the satellite speakers. The ported subwoofer fires out the side with a 6.5-inch speaker providing deep and pounding bass. This makes them some of the best bass computer speakers currently available.
Incredibly convenient…
By placing the control pod in an easily accessible location on your desk, you can adjust the main speaker functions. Toggle power off and on, control volume and bass levels. Additionally, there are headphones and auxiliary inputs.
Having quick and easy access to all of these functions certainly adds to the convenience. It also allows for you to place the speakers in the most acoustically pleasing location, as you don’t need to be reaching for controls on them.
Pros
- The standalone subwoofer provides deep bass.
- Internal power allows for 46 watts RMS.
- Convenient control pod including auxiliary and headphone inputs.
Cons
- The cords are a bit too short and need to be longer.
- Top-heavy satellite speakers can be knocked over.
6
Redragon GS520 – Best Gaming Computer Speakers Under $100
If you enjoy gaming, then you’re probably already familiar with Redragon. What you may not be familiar with is their GS520 lightweight, compact computer speakers. These are some of the best plug and play computer speakers that make a great companion for your desktop or laptop.
Of course, they have been given a gaming touch with the addition of RGB lighting. While these are a very simple set of speakers, they are also extremely affordable and offer impressive sound quality. Therefore, they earned their place among the best computer speakers under $100.
Plug and play…
Setting up these speakers is incredibly easy. At the rear, you will find a cable that splits into two, with a USB plug at one end for power and a 3.5mm jack on the other for audio. No drivers are needed, simply plug them both in, and you’re ready to go.
On the front of the right speaker towards the top, you will find three buttons. The bottom toggles power, while the top two adjust the volume levels up and down. By touching the top of the right speaker, you can cycle between six RGB lighting effects.
Modern design…
Redragon’s speakers are constructed almost entirely of plastic, with a metal mesh grille protecting the speaker components. A thin L-shaped strip houses the RGB lights on both left and right speakers.
On the left of the mesh and light strip is a brushed design that gives a modern industrial feel. Power is not huge with 2 x 3 watts, which isn’t too bad, considering they are powered via USB and don’t have an internal supply.
Pros
- Lightweight, compact, and affordable.
- Plug and play with easy to use controls.
- Cool RGB gamer-style lighting.
Cons
- Only the one connection option.
- Low power of only 2 x 3 watts.
7
Creative Pebble Plus – Best Budget Computer Speakers Under $100
Now for a second product from the guys at Creative. These cool-looking spherical pebble speakers are a 2.1 system, including a subwoofer for that added bass boost. A modern and interesting design at an affordable price.
These are a wired set of speakers, which means that you’ll not only need the desk space, but you’ll need to hide cables too. There are no fancy features here, and it’s simply just an upgrade from standard sound quality and a funky design.
Getting set up…
All of the wires come from the right speaker. An RCA cable is used to connect the subwoofer, while the left speaker is hardwired. You’ll then be left with a 3.5mm plug for the audio signal and a USB plug to provide power.
Once you have everything connected and have attempted to hide all those cables as best you can, you’re ready to go. Volume is controlled using a dial located at the front of the right speaker, which is also the only control for the speakers.
Surprising performance…
With bass-heavy tracks, when played at high volume, you will experience distortion through the subwoofer. At medium volume, though, the results were surprisingly well-balanced with no noticeable distortion.
For not-so-bass-heavy audio, we were pleased to experience crisp, clean sound that can be played comfortably at high volumes. Even though these speakers are short on features, their price and performance make them a worthwhile consideration.
Pros
- Cool and modern sphere design.
- Subwoofer for extra bass.
- Impressive sound quality.
Cons
- Lots of wires to try and hide.
- No auxiliary input.

Foxnovo SL-90 – Best Soundbar Style Computer Speakers Under $100
For our final product, we have a soundbar-style set of speakers from Foxnovo. The SL-90 can either be laid down horizontally or placed vertically and paired together. There is a range of connection options, both wired and wireless.
With such a wide range of connection options, this is one of the most versatile computer speakers on the market. It cannot only be used for your PC but many other compatible devices you wish to enjoy playing audio from.
Let’s get connected…
Connecting to your PC can be completed wirelessly using Bluetooth or using a wired connection with a 3.5mm auxiliary cable. You can even connect your smartphone, tablet, or MP3 player.
Playback audio straight from a storage device by plugging in either a micro-SD card or use the USB port. Controls at the rear of the speaker offer mode selection, play/pause, skip tracks, and also volume control.
Great acoustics…
Sound is delivered by four 2.6-inch speakers set into a cast-iron frame. Within the frame is a wooden cavity creating a larger range of frequencies, and therefore, a bigger range of sounds. Lows, mids, and highs are all balanced for clear and crisp audio.
Don’t be concerned with interference from your PC screen either, as triple-filter capacitors offer great protection. No hums or hisses to contend with at all. Likewise, 20 watts of power makes high-volume room-filling sound possible.
Pros
- Multiple connections and source options.
- Connect two units for richer sound.
- Wooden cavity improves acoustics.
Cons
- Lack of bass compared to other speakers.
- The wider design might not be suitable for some desk spaces.

If this is important to you, then there is plenty to choose from. The Pyle, Creative T100, and Foxnovo all offer wireless Bluetooth connectivity. Keep in mind that all of them will still require a power supply, so you’ll need to run at least one cable.
