Top 8 Best Bluetooth Hearing Protection You Should Buy in 2023 Reviews
1
3M WorkTunes Connect Hearing Protector – Best On The Job Bluetooth Hearing Protection
This is a hearing protector with Bluetooth from 3M with a noise reduction rating of 24dB. It has a rechargeable battery built-in that can shut down automatically when not in use.
There is also a battery indicator. This will give you the status of the batteries at all times. A useful addition so that you will know when it needs to be charged. It will operate with all basic USB chargers, and a micro-USB cable is supplied.
Comfort Level…
If you are going to be wearing these hearing protectors for lengthy periods, then you will need a comfortable fit. These headphones are going to be fine for use for hours. They are lightweight, weighing only 15 ounces, and have a low-profile.
The ear cushions are soft and conform to the shape of your head, and the headband is flexible. The headband is designed with cutouts to allow you to fit them over hats. And being cordless means you can use them without anything to distract you. This all makes them a real contender for the most comfortable Bluetooth hearing protection that you can buy.
The Controls…
The big design plus with these headphones is the way you control them. It has a single button that will control all the functions, including voice controls. This is prominent and placed on the outside of the ear cup. It is designed to make it easy to use if you wear gloves.
It will turn the headphones off and on as well as control the music. This includes play and pause and other track management functions.
Ring, ring…
It has a playtime of about 30 hours. Built-in is a microphone for making and taking calls. It can also connect to non-Bluetooth devices if you wish by using the 3.55mm connection. But please note that the cable is not included.
An excellent piece of equipment providing good functions at a great price. Well-built and able to withstand a few knocks and a great start to our reviews of the Best Bluetooth Hearing Protection.
Pros
- Easy to use with one-touch controls in a convenient location.
- Comfortable and stable at a good price point.
Cons
- None.
2
Honeywell Sync Wireless Earmuffs – Best Premium Bluetooth Hearing Protection
Honeywell are a very well-known organization. One of the big players in the 60s and early 70s in computer hardware, they have since changed course, and many of their products are now consumer rather than industry-based.
Boom microphone…
This hearing protector has some good features. One of which is a microphone that rotates on a boom arm. It provides clear audio, and it can be positioned to ensure it only picks up your voice. This is effective even in noisy work environments.
When you are not using it, the boom arm can move the microphone away from your mouth and out of your line of sight. This prevents it from being a distraction or a potential danger. These are more than likely the best Bluetooth ear protection with a microphone you can find.
The Build…
These headphones are well-made with a headband that has a strong steel core. The headband is well-padded. This gives you comfort from the sponge padding and durability from the steel insert. A design that will increase the lifespan of the headphones.
Comfort will not be a problem when you have you use them at work for the majority of people. Whilst the comfort level is high we should make the point about the size. If your head size is larger than what might be called average, you could experience some discomfort. The fit is quite tight and not really adjustable.
Noise ratings…
It has a noise reduction rating of 25dB and a signal-to-noise rating of 32dB that will give you adequate protection. These are quite good ratings, and add to that; there is a volume limiter as well. This is set at 82dB, which will be the maximum output from the headphones. A very good addition.
The design uses airflow technology. This will give you noise reduction across all the frequencies and not just a limited range. We can’t say we are surprised Honeywell produces some of the best hearing protection on the market today.
The Battery…
It has a built-in rechargeable battery and comes with an adapter for the wall and the charging cable. Although, there is a downside to this otherwise superb product. The battery will only give you 16 hours of playtime. Whilst that is longer than a normal working day for most people, it may not be long enough for some.
The Connections…
It uses Bluetooth version 4.1 that will allow you to bring in music from your favorite sites or your playlists.
Pros
- Moving boom microphone for making calls.
- Good noise reduction ratings.
Cons
- Quite expensive.
- Low battery life.
3
ISOtunes Wireless Earplug Earbuds – Best Earbuds for Bluetooth Hearing Protection
A change of style now as we move on to earbuds rather than headphones. Earbuds first arrived in the 80s. But it wasn’t until Steve Jobs changed the way we could listen to music that they really caught on. Some, of course, still prefer headphones but others are quite happy with inserting earbuds in their ears.
Lightweight…
Other than the fact they are not as bulky and visible as headphones, the big asset of earbuds is their weight. At only four and a half grams each, they are very lightweight, making them probably the best lightweight Bluetooth hearing protection around.
Some interesting design features…
Included in the build are microphones that are noise suppressing. That includes echo-removal technology. The microphones are omnidirectional, making them ideal for calls in the environment they will be used in. You can make and receive calls even with just one earbud in place.
They have memory foam ear tips that are heat-activated. Likewise, they have a noise reduction rating of 22dB and feature Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
The Battery…
From a full charge, the earbuds give seven hours of use. That might not seem like an awful lot. But with a further two charges of seven hours each from the carrying case that will last for the day. After two charges, the case itself will need to be recharged.
The carrying case holds both earbuds and has a rather bright yellow internal color. This matches the earbuds, but it is unlikely you will mislay them.
Not just for work…
These earbuds have an IP45 rating which makes them water-resistant. That means that whilst they are good for work, they are also good for a workout in the gym when you sweat.
A downside…
It all looks good, and the design and functions are easy to use. However, the quality of the sound is not so good. There are certainly better-sounding earbuds out there. Albeit not what you would call ear protection.
The plus side…
To try and make you as comfortable as possible, they come with Small, Medium, and Large ear tips. Also, three pairs of silicone tips. Reasonably priced, they are certainly an option for those who prefer earbuds.
Pros
- Plenty of battery life with omnidirectional microphones built-in.
- Very lightweight and compact.
Cons
- The sound is not so good.
4
Peltor Sport Tactical 500 – Best Tactical Bluetooth Hearing Protection
These are designed for those who like to go shooting. But they will suffice in most situations where you need to protect your hearing. Therefore, if you are looking for the best shooting ear protection, these are well worth a look.
The Build…
They are made from tough plastic and have a compact design. However, at about one and a half pounds in weight, you could hardly call them lightweight. But, they are quite nicely padded and comfortable.
They have an adjustable headband that is designed to be quite flexible. It will fit most head shapes and sizes. There have been some concerns, though, that the headband can snap if too much pressure is applied to it. The headband has cutouts that help to ventilate and stop you from getting too hot.
The ear cups have a textured foam that is actually quite firm and almost resembles rubber materials. Not the most comfortable around the ears, then. But it does provide a good seal. Furthermore, it has an NRR rating of 26dB, which will offer good protection.
The Battery…
It uses two AA batteries, but you can use a rechargeable Li-ion battery. You should get a lengthy 42 hours of use. Using batteries means that you haven’t got to worry about recharging. It is though the more expensive option.
The Connections…
You can use Bluetooth or connect to your device through the 3.5mm jack socket. Always a good addition to have the option of both.
To ensure you stay in touch, it has microphones that are recessed into the design. The controls are positioned on the outside of the ear cup, making them easy to access. They are placed to try and reduce any unwanted wind noise. There is an automatic shut-off if the unit is not used for a while, as well as voice guidance options.
Pros
- Quite well made with battery use options.
- Easy to use with efficient connections.
Cons
- Ear cups might not be the most comfortable.
5
Walker’s Game Ear Razor Slim Electronic Muff – Best Bluetooth Shooting Hearing Protection
Next in our Best Bluetooth Hearing Protection reviews, we have another set of headphones that are designed to be used on the shooting range. They feature a low-profile while still maintaining a high level of ear safety.
The Build…
They have a slimline design that incorporates the ability to be able to fold them away. A useful feature after they have been used. The ear cups sit very flat to the side of the head. They are not blessed with a great deal of padding, but what is there is quite soft and will suffice. The headband is also given soft padding and is adjustable for fitting most heads.
They are made of plastic, as nearly all headphones are. But they are quite sturdy, and the joints that move are secure. They weigh just under one pound.
The Sound…
Nothing special to write home about but the small speakers in the ear cups are quite clear but lacks a bit of bass possibly. But then, given what they are designed for, perhaps music isn’t the priority.
The Controls…
The on and off and volume control have a raised profile, making them easy to use if you happen to be wearing gloves. There are two omnidirectional microphones built-in that provide crisp spoken sound both when speaking and listening.
They have an NRR rating of 23dB, which is not great when compared with others but adequate. They operate on two AAA batteries which have been included.
Rather a budget offering, but given its attractive price point, a decent set of ear protectors.
Pros
- Nice slimline design with a sturdy build.
- Attractive price point with a decent NRR rating.
Cons
- Not the best sound quality.
6
Howard Leight Soap Dish Headphones – Best Budget Bluetooth Hearing Protection
These headphones from Howard Leight are another budget range set of ear protectors with some good features.
Noise reduction…
They have a noise reduction rating of 22dB, which is not the highest. But the design of these headphones also includes an automatic shut-off. The system listens to what is going on either through music, ambient noise, or speech. It will automatically shut off any sounds that exceed 82dB. This provides automatic excess noise-blocking.
The Battery…
The automatic shut-off helps to preserve battery life. And it is important to remember this is not a rechargeable device. You will therefore have to buy the batteries. And preferably keep a spare set handy.
However, you’re supplied with two AAA batteries, and you should get around three hundred and fifty hours of use with one replacement set.
The Build…
They are well-made with sturdy plastic and an attractive green color scheme. Makes a change from the standard black. The headband is well-padded and fully adjustable.
The ear cups have a very slimline design which adds to the style. If you need to replace them, then they have a very easy-to-use snap-in action. The headphones fold down for storage after use which is always a useful design feature.
The built-in directional microphones amplify the sound and give a balanced effect.
No Bluetooth…
We should mention that these headphones are not fitted with Bluetooth. They have a 3.5mm aux input that will connect to devices that have a 3.5m port. Some phones, of course, have ceased to use that function. It is therefore advisable to check your device first. You are supplied with the necessary connecting cord.
Quite a nice set of ear protectors at an attractive price point. But, the lack of Bluetooth might be a negative for some.
Pros
- Nicely designed low-profile headphones.
- Comfortable with plenty of adjustments at an attractive price.
Cons
- No Bluetooth compatibility.
7
Gloryfire Electronic Shooting Earmuff – Best Noise Reduction Bluetooth Hearing Protection
Yet another set of headphones to remove sound from shooting activities. These are another budget range of headphones. They have a noise reduction ratio of 25dB. These also have a maximum volume shut-off when any sounds exceed 82dB.
The Build…
They are quite well-built with a reasonable level of comfort. The earpads are not the softest you will find, but they do remove a lot of external sounds.
The headband has a reasonable design and is padded on the inside. They have omnidirectional microphones built-in, which regulate the sound up to a level of 82dB before shut off.
We should mention that these headphones are also not Bluetooth compatible. There is a 3.5mm aux input that allows you to connect your devices to use your playlists.
Will only suit some people…
This is a set of headphones that are very limited in what they can do. Certainly not suited to a work environment. They will appeal to some because of the price point.
But with only average sound quality and very little in the way of features, they don’t have a lot going for them. That said, they are one of the best budget hearing protection options available,
Pros
- Noise reduction rating of 25dB.
- Competitive price point.
Cons
- No Bluetooth and very little in the way of features.

Mpow HP102A Bluetooth Noise Reduction Safety Ear Muffs – Best Value for the Money Bluetooth Hearing Protection
This set of noise reduction safety earmuffs for Mpow are quite a bit more than that. And given the very cost-effective price point, they must be considered as headphones that offer the best multi function Bluetooth hearing protection.
Why more than that?
Because these have an NR rating of 29dB and a sound to noise ratio of 36dB. More than acceptable for ear protection. But these are so designed that they can also be used just for listening to music. Wherever you are, they, therefore, can fulfill two functions.
The Build…
These have an excellent build quality. The earpads are filled with soft foam and are covered with PU leather. They are a snug fit on the ears without being too tight. They form a good seal around the ear that removes any external ambient noise.
The ear cups are quite deep. So they will fit over your ears rather than just on them as some slimline models can do. And at only 12 ounces, they are also lightweight.
The headband has a practical design. Fully adjustable, it has a telescopic adjuster that allows it to fit any head size comfortably. The design allows you to adjust the headband for good weight distribution and comfort levels.
Battery and Connections…
No batteries are required as the battery is rechargeable. For each full charge, you can expect about thirty hours of use. It has Bluetooth built-in but also has a 3.5mm audio input. The cable is supplied. There is a built-in mic that allows you to take and make calls with the controls are located on the earcup, including volume control.
A very good set of ear protectors with a wide range of uses and applications. The price point makes these an excellent buy. The sound isn’t the very best. But for the price, it is good enough.
Pros
- Well made with a comfortable fit that can be fully adjusted.
- Good rechargeable battery life at an excellent price point.
Cons
- Not the best sound you will hear.
